Dream Big: Celebrating Our 50th Anniversary

As we celebrate our 50th anniversary this year, we recognize those who have helped us to grow—our founders, our employees, and our clients. We take pride in our past, and eagerly look forward as we celebrate those who will help us grow—the next generation of engineers.

On Wednesday, November 7, we invited our clients and friends to join us for a 50th anniversary celebration at the Jordan Commons IMAX Theater in Sandy, Utah. Attendees were encouraged to bring guests under the age of 18 to participate in a special drawing. Approximately 325 guests (and just as many buckets of popcorn) gathered in the theaterto view Dream Big: Engineering Our World, a film documenting the innovation of engineering and its contributions to people and communities across the globe, from the largest transportation networks and tallest skyscrapers to humble footbridges that allow students to cross dangerous rivers safely to school for the first time.

Before the movie, Horrocks board members joined in the fun, drawing names and presenting exciting STEM prizes to seven young attendees. One lucky winner, Jaden Henke, received a $1,000 scholarship. Speaking of the event, President Jim Horrocks stated, “We’re grateful for the wonderful industry support we saw at this event. Many children and youth participated in our event, and we are happy to see and be a part of the enthusiasm the younger generation has for engineering and other STEM careers. We will continue to support their interest in this industry as we look forward to the next 50 years.”
